The Maine and Minnesota Laws:

• Maine: The first state to enact a comprehensive PFAS ban, Maine’s law prohibits the sale of any product containing intentionally added PFAS by 2030, with exemptions for “currently unavoidable uses.” For more information about Maine

What This Means for Businesses:

While these bans are currently limited to two states, they represent a growing national movement to regulate PFAS. With over 30 states introducing policies on PFAS, we can expect further action on a federal level in the future.

Businesses that manufacture or sell products containing PFAS should be aware of these emerging regulations and start developing alternatives. Compliance with these bans will be crucial for continued market access.
