Cleaning Industry Veteran Jerry Mitchell Passes Away
Gerald “Jerry” Mitchell passed away January 10, 2021. He was 84 years old.
Mitchell was born August 20, 1936. He spent much of his life in Pennsylvania, where he was a fixture in the janitorial supply industry. After nearly two decades of success as a supplier, Mitchell went into business for himself as an independent manufacturers representative, forming Jerry Mitchell Associates.
In addition to his work as a sales rep, Mitchell was an active member of ISSA, serving on the association’s Manufacturer Representatives Council for many years. In 2017, he was named the recipient of the ISSA Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his substantial contributions to the advancement of ISSA and the industry at large.
“Jerry was a long-time personal friend and a strong supporter of ISSA throughout his career. He impacted many lives in a positive way and he will be missed,” said former ISSA Executive Director John Garfinkel.
Mitchell is survived by his two brothers, Robert and James, and his three children, Jennifer Wilson, Chris Mitchell, and ISSA Vice President Kim Althoff.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mitchell’s name to the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
