‘Hops for Hope’ Raises Money for Cancer Patients Support
Home Sweet Home Cleaning and Gardening LLC, in conjunction with Cleaning for a Reason, held its third annual Hops For Hope fundraiser on Sunday afternoon at the Woodland Farm Brewery in Marcy.
Cleaning for a Reason is a national nonprofit organization that provides free home cleaning services for patients who are being treated for cancer—including those in Central New York.
Home Sweet Home held Sunday’s fundraiser with the hope of raising $10,000 for Cleaning for a Reason.
House cleaning can be difficult for those who are going through cancer treatments, according to the owner of Home Sweet Home, Heather Loveland-Button.
“It’s physically difficult to be performing that task during chemotherapy treatment,” Loveland-Button said. “Additionally, a lot of people have a hard time asking for help, so they already have the burden of putting rides on their family for doctor’s appointments and different things. There’s dinners, there’s so many other things that this is one aspect of your everyday life that we can take off of them”.
Sunday’s Hops For Hope event ran from noon to 5 p.m.
It featured vendors, raffles, entertainment by the band Live Noah, and of course, plenty of Woodland Farm products.
