House Cleaning that’s good for the soul
Every bit of energy counts for those battling cancer, so it stands to reason cleaning their home is not high on the priority list.
But that doesn’t mean they can’t have a clean house, thanks to 4 Senses House Cleaning. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, owners Mariusz Zalesski and Ewa Pluciennik says that through the help of Cleaning for a Reason, a foundation they belong to, 4 Senses House Cleaning will offer free cleaning services to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
The couple, who immigrated from Poland, came to the United States to build a better life for themselves and their family. Having achieved that, Cleaning for a Reason is a way to give back.
Since it began, the organization has provided free home cleaning for thousands of cancer patients. 4 Senses House Cleaning has helped about 50 individuals since it started participating in the program.
They do it because they know how important it is for patients to be in a clean environment while undergoing treatment, and to help relieve some of the burden. Zalesski and Pluciennik say they have dedicated employees who are always eager to help, too.
That’s where others can step up.
Family members, friends, neighbors or others can nominate a patient through the foundation. Patients can also self-nominate.
For Zalesski, it’s about knowing they can help make a difference in someone’s life. “Not too many people know about Cleaning for a Reason and that we support it,” he says.
Pluciennik says the patients are always so appreciative, and having a clean home makes them feel so much better,” she says. “And our employees are very aware of how crucial their roles are and the significant impact they have on people’s well-being. And for the client, it can have such an impact. Sometimes you don’t realize how you can touch a person’s life.”
